About the home

The bright half of the compound, with an in ground pool out back and a turf soccer field out front. The living room runs on a record collection: shelves of classic albums along the walls, a record player on the credenza and a sign reading PUT YOUR RECORDS ON. The kitchen opens right into it, fully stocked, with a butcher block island. The backyard adds ping pong, cornhole, bean bag lounges, 2 long picnic tables under teal umbrellas and a gas grill, and the front yard has a grass pickleball set with paddles. Unit A and its backyard, with the hot tub and fire pit, are not part of this booking.

The space

The living room sets the tone. Record shelves line the walls with classic albums on display, there is a record player on the credenza, and a sign reading PUT YOUR RECORDS ON. The kitchen flows right into it, open and fully stocked, with a butcher block island and room for everyone to be in it at once.

There are 3 bedrooms sleeping 12. The primary has a king bed, a sliding glass door that opens straight to the pool, and an ensuite with a glass enclosed walk in shower. The second fits 6 across 2 twin-over-full bunk beds, and it is a real room, designed and comfortable. The third has 2 full beds, bright walls and a calm, clean finish for whoever needs a quieter corner.

The backyard has a full in ground pool with floats included, 2 long picnic tables under teal umbrellas, ping pong, cornhole, bean bag lounges and a gas grill. String lights run the perimeter and trees shade the whole yard.

Out front is a full turf soccer field with goals at each end, balls included, and a grass pickleball set with paddles ready to go.

Guest access

The whole of Unit B is yours, the entire interior plus the backyard, the pool and the front yard. Unit A and its backyard are not included.

A few notes

Unit A and Unit B share a wall. Be considerate of whoever is staying next door, and stay in Unit B and its own outdoor spaces.

This is a quiet residential neighborhood, so no parties, loud gatherings or disturbances. Keep noise reasonable through the day, and after 10pm no sound should carry beyond the property line. Those are City of Austin regulations.

No smoking anywhere on the property. No pets. Children need an adult with them at the pool.

The neighborhood

East 6th and Manor, close by.

Unit B is in East Austin's MLK neighborhood, a well established and genuinely local pocket of the city. The airport is close, Mueller is close, and downtown is a short drive.

The East Austin food scene starts at the door. Micklethwait Craft Meats for some of the best barbecue in the city, Jacoby's for ranch to table dinner on the Colorado River, Contigo for a patio night, and Este for coastal Mexican that is worth the wait. East 6th and Manor Road are both close for bars, coffee and whatever else the group wants.

The hosts were kind and very responsive. We had some issues with the fridge and AC but they were resolved quickly. The place is tight quarters for 12, but could’ve slept 8 comfortably.

For a group of 12 like us, the place was not big enough. The rooms were very small.
I would like to see another exit to avoid going from the house to the backyard through one of the bedrooms.
The rest was ok, they were very nice when we texted them for help.

A group of friends and myself stayed here, it had everything we needed, was clean, pool and vinyl player were the highlights. Ease of access via car to literally everywhere.

Had a great time, great for groups, pool was perfect. Plenty of towels. Seating for movie night felt a little tight (7 in our party), but we made it work.
Had what I needed to cook some great meals and made some great memories! Thx!
Ps. Someone mentioned not caring for the beds, personally, I thought the master bedroom bed was super comfy .
