A private pool and hot tub sit at the back of this home, alongside a covered lounge, an outdoor dining area with a BBQ and a TV, and a gazebo with a fire pit. Yard games take up the rest of the space: cornhole, a life-size Connect-4 and ring toss. Inside, the blue room is an arcade and a movie room at once, with a Pac-Man cabinet, a large TV and a work desk. The neighborhood is quiet, and downtown and Dripping Springs are each a short drive.

The space

The kitchen is fully equipped and sits at the center of the home. The living room is next to it, with a TV and a record player for vinyl.

There are 3 bedrooms with king and queen beds, and 2 bathrooms. The blue room does several jobs at once: an old-school Pac-Man arcade cabinet, a large TV for movie nights and a work desk. Its daybed and giant couch convert into more sleeping space.

Outside, a covered area holds seating and a TV. The outdoor dining area sits beside the gas grill. The gazebo has a lounging area and a fire pit. The yard games area has cornhole, a life-size Connect-4 and ring toss.

The pool and the hot tub are both out back.

A few notes

This is a quiet residential neighborhood, so no parties or loud gatherings. Keep noise at a reasonable level through the day, and after 10pm nothing should carry beyond the property line. That is a City of Austin rule.

No smoking anywhere on the property. No pets. Children need an adult with them at the pool.

A short drive from downtown.

The home sits on a quiet residential street, with downtown a short drive one way and Dripping Springs a short drive the other. Live music, food trucks, restaurants, shops and galleries are all within reach without being on the doorstep.

Parks and waterways are close by for trails, kayaking or a slower day outside. The neighborhood stays relaxed and residential, which is the trade: the city is easy to get to and easy to leave behind at the end of the day.

This property was a match to the description. Many upgrades have been done. Nice kitchen, the main bedroom is large. Just note, the main shower is not a 2-person size. The extra bedrooms are nicely decorated. The pool and spa directions they give you are easy to follow.

Our biggest issue with the house was the backyard. We chose it for its pool, but it was disappointing due to algae growth on the pool and hot tub bottom. Despite weekly maintenance, the pool turned green a few days after being serviced. We were not comfortable swimming again, even if the pool had been cleaned again prior to our check out. There was also a wasp problem, with wasps constantly in and out of the pool. Wasp spray was provided, but we were uncomfortable using it on wasps in the pool and didn’t see any nests to spray. Due to the wasps and pool issues, we only swam three times during our 11-day stay, though we expected to use it daily.The house needed a deep clean. We found hairs in the shower, dirt under rugs, spider webs, dust, and debris in the silverware drawer, and encountered a roach, several spiders, and ants in the bathroom. Traveling with a 3-month-old, cleanliness was crucial, and we were disappointed.A minor issue was the WiFi, which required providing our name and contact information to connect. This inconvenience prevented us from connecting the baby’s WiFi-enabled devices. Otherwise, the house was functional and suited our needs. The game room was our favorite spot, located on the opposite side from the bedrooms, making it ideal for quiet mornings and evenings. Jeremy, the host, was responsive to our questions and promptly resolved an issue when a storm knocked a limb off a tree in the front yard.

We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable home. It was perfect for us to visit our Grandson who lives in Austin. Jeremy was always available to us when we had questions before during and after our stay. Great amenities. Air conditioning worked great, and the pool helped with the Austin heat in August! This home was a 10-15 minute drive to many attractions downtown. We visited Barton Springs where we swam and enjoyed paddleboarding. There is so much more to see. Comfortable beds, great kitchen, great living space, Roku TVs all around. I would absolutely recommend this home to any family visiting the Austin area.
