About the home

The property runs down a hillside in 3 layers, each one its own thing. At the top, a detached casita with a kitchenette sits beside a firepit terrace under the oak canopy. Landscaped stone steps lead down to a heated saltwater pool walled in limestone and layered greenery. Below that is the main home, open plan, with glass doors and soaring windows facing the trees. Natural landscaping runs through all of it.

The space

At the top of the hill, a detached casita works as its own hideaway: a queen bed, a full bathroom and a kitchenette. Just outside it, a firepit terrace sits under the oak canopy.

Follow the landscaped stone steps down and you reach the centerpiece, a heated saltwater pool surrounded by limestone walls, layered greenery and architectural plantings. Soft landscape lighting takes over in the evening.

Further down is the main home. Glass doors and an open plan let the light in. The kitchen blends farmhouse with modern touches and is equipped with eco friendly cookware, flowing into a dining space framed by a wall of windows and the greenery beyond. The living area sits alongside it.

This level also holds 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, the primary with a king bed and the second with a queen.

The whole property is yours: the casita, the pool and the main home.

A few notes

The home is accessed through the back alley. There is parking for 2 cars on the property, and any additional vehicles can use free street parking at the end of the alleyway.

This is a quiet residential neighborhood, so no parties, loud gatherings or disturbances. Keep noise reasonable through the day, and after 10pm no sound should carry beyond the property line. Those are City of Austin regulations.

No smoking anywhere on the property. No pets. Children need an adult with them at the pool.

Ladybird Villa sits on a hillside in Travis Heights, where green slopes run up against the downtown skyline. The Lady Bird Lake boardwalk is 2 blocks away, so a morning can start with a paddleboard or a jog along the water. South Congress and South Lamar are close by for iced coffee and the shops along both.

The food nearby covers tacos, barbecue, Tex-Mex, craft cocktails and fresh eats, and after dark there are live music venues, art galleries and casual rooftops. The property itself stays quiet: tree lined steps, terraced gardens and planted patios between the levels.

Even better than we expected! This home was lovely in every way. Immaculate, incredibly comfortable and peaceful. The pool is perfect, the home is well-stocked, and the attention to detail is exquisite. We’ve rented close to 100 homes over the years on VRBO and this was definitely one of our all-time favorites. We had a minor issue with an appliance and the owners handled it immediately. Also the location is another bonus as you are tucked away on quiet street but close to South Congress and Lady Bird Lake. Would highly recommend this home!

My friends and I stayed here on our annual friend trip and we all said this was by far our favorite airbnb we have all stayed in together. It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. The pool was really the cherry on top and was our favorite part. It was very close to downtown and the highway, so it made it easy to get to nightlife, restaurants, and our other destinations. The hosts were very responsive, easy to get in contact with, and extremely helpful during check in. My friends and I would stay here again and again.
